Sarah Palin to clash with Bill Clinton in California

Newscast Media -- Two of the biggest names in politics will criss-cross California on consecutive days in mid-October: Sarah Palin and Bill Clinton. Former president Bill Clinton will be headlining an event for Democratic Rep. Loretta Sanchez on Oct. 15, while former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be in Anaheim the following day raising money for the Republican National Committee.

Even though the two titans will be in Orange County by coincidence, both parties as well as news organizations are likely to extract some gems from both appearances.  Orange County is a Republican haven for raising cash, but has recently been leaning toward Democrats due the assimilation of Hispanics and Asians.

Republicans in Orange County are fired up and believe the Palin event will draw large crowds and energize the voting base for the mid-term elections.  Republican gubenatorial nominee Meg Whitman and Senate GOP nominee Carly Fiorina are also likely to benefit from the excitement the visit will generate among their local supporters.

However, Democrats are optimistic and believe it's Bill Clinton's star power that will overshadow the political scene that week in California. Add Comments>>
