Trump gives reason why he fired FBI director James Comey
by Joseph Earnest May 10, 2017
Newscast Media WASHINGTON, D.C.—Based on recommendations of both the Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, President Donald Trump fired FBI directory James Comey last evening. The termination of Comey has left the FBI shocked and angry because they did not see it coming. Comey allegedly learned about the firing on television.
Speaker Paul Ryan said Comey had been compromised and the decision Trump made was presidential. “The truth is James Comey had just basically lost the confidence of a lot of Democrats and Republicans based on his actions and comments,” Ryan said. “It is entirely within the president’s role and authority to relieve him, and that’s what he did.”
As for Trump, his response to a pool of journalist at the White House went as follows: Q: Mr. President, why did you fire Director Comey? TRUMP: "He wasn't doing a good job. Very simply. He was not doing a good job." Q: Did it affect your meeting with the Russians today? TRUMP: "Not at all." POTUS did not respond when asked if the new FBI director will be in charge of the Russia investigation. Add Comments>>
