Manchester United clobbers Aston Villa 3-1 at home
by Joseph Ernest February 1, 2011
Newscast Media MANCHESTER, Eng-- Former Everton footballer Wayne Rooney led Manchester United to a 3-1 victory against Aston Villa after scoring twice at home in the Premier League on Feb 1. England striker Rooney's first minute goal put the hosts in control of the game at Old Trafford in Manchester. Rooney also took advantage of Nani's sensational cross and pumped in another goal at the far post. After 58 minutes, Villa's unmarked Bent shot one in against United, boosting the morale of his teammates. However, the opponents were kept in check when Rooney laid the ball off to Manchester United's Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic who drove in a banana shot to seal the deal. Add Comments>>
