Newscast Media WASHINGTONFormer vice presidential candidate Congressman Paul Ryan feels the likelihood of running for president in 2016 is high and now "more realistic", but will first concentrate on talks to cure the defects in the deficit. Ryan does not plan on running for House speaker, which would clear the way for a White House run.

"I have no plans to be in House elected leadership. If I wanted to be in elected leadership like speaker, I would have run for these jobs years ago. I've always believed the better place for me is in policy leadership like being a chairman," he said.

He also said the experience of being Mitt Romney's running mate was a positive one. "I enjoyed the experience. It made it more realistic in my mind. It's something that I much better understand," Ryan said in a Sunday morning interview."

The Romney-Ryan ticket had promised to create 12 million new jobs if elected president.   Add Comments>>
