Newscast Media WASHINGTONRepublican presidential candidate Donald Trump is closing the week with two new polls showing he continues to maintain a lead over Clinton, while her numbers are falling.

According to the UPI/CVoter poll, Trump has been ahead of Clinton for two days in a row with 48.52 percent to Clinton's 47.73 percent. The polls shows that over the past week Trump has gained four (4) points while Clinton has lost 3.3, with a sample size of 1,720 individuals as shown below:

The reason for Hillary's decline and Trump's rise could possibly be explained by the impending email scandal in which Clinton has failed to give direct answers regarding the private use of her server for exchanging classified information while she was in office.

A new poll from the Los Angeles Times also verifies Trump's lead in the polls:

Trump has seized this opportunity to raise doubts in voters' minds as to whether she can be trusted with the nation's sensitive data, if she was careless handling classified information on her private server.

Trump has also painted himself as a "voice of reason" by reaching out to minorities in a meeting held at Trump Tower on Thursday August 25.

“A very important part of the message for me is the African-American community, [because] they have really been let down by Hillary Clinton and the Democrats,” Mr. Trump said.

Moreover, should Assange be as good as his word that he has “enough evidence” for the Department of Justice to indict Hillary Clinton regarding her handling of classified information, and decides to release the information in the days ahead, Trump will capitalize on the revelations and solidify his lead in the polls just in time for the debates.

A complete PDF file of the surveys shows how the poll was conducted.
