Newscast Media TEHRAN—It seems for the past couple of years, the US has been delivering intact Christmas gifts to Iran in form of drones. Last year on Sunday December 4, 2011 it was the US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft. Exactly a year later on Tuesday December 4, 2012 it is the ScanEagle drone that has allegedly been delivered to the Iranians. You better believe conspiracy theorist are going to have a field day with these dubious events.
The first drone to be captured was the US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft on December 4, 2011. When the Sentinel stealth fighter was captured last year, Barack Obama said, "We've asked for it back. We'll see how the Iranians respond." In classic Persian satire, Iran's President Ahmadinejad said, "We consider it a gift from the U.S.—and when someone gives you a gift, it is bad manners to return it." Below is the video of the ScanEagle drone Iran says it captured on Dec. 4, 2012.
As for the US RQ-170 drone that was captured last year, Iran said it was going to decode it, then make duplicate copies of the same. (pop-up) Iran's message to America through Brigadier General Hossein Salami on Tuesday December 4, was: "The new US failure in spying operation by this drone demonstrated that the US government, despite its high military and economic power and its dominance on the world political order, is not capable of confronting the Islamic Iran, and Iran can easily undo all its plans."
