Newscast Media WASHINGTON—A letter that was written by the Congressional Black Caucus recommending Houston, Texas Representative Sheila Jackson Lee to be the replacement of outgoing Secretary of Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, is creating ripples in Washington D.C.
"Representative Jackson Lee would serve as an effective DHS Secretary because she understands the importance of increasing border security and maintaining homeland safety," the letter read. "Representative Jackson Lee has been a tenacious advocate for national security, border security and immigration reform...We encourage you to strongly consider Representative Jackson Lee as you seek a new DHS Secretary," the letter concluded.
