Newscast Media -- Taliban gunmen shot and killed a group of 10 Christian workers who had been  providing eye care in remote villages with International Assistance Mission and were returning to Kabul.  The victims included a British national, a German, two Afghan interpreters and six Americans.

Zabihullah Mujahed the Taliban spokesperson took responsibility and bragged, "Yesterday at around 8am, one of our patrols confronted a group of foreigners. They were Christian missionaries and we killed them all."

On its Web site, International Assistance Mission wrote, "We object to this senseless killing of people who have done nothing but serve the poor. Some of the foreigners have worked alongside the Afghan people for decades. This tragedy negatively impacts our ability to continue serving the Afghan people. We hope it will not stop our work. Our thoughts and prayer are with those affected at this time."                   Add Comments>>
